We are seeking a Medical Secretary to join our team on a temporary basis.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication, multitasking and typing skills, as well as the ability to manage data with accuracy, discretion and adherence to GDPR guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Transcribe medical documents, correspondence and reports with speed and precision.
* Provide a professional and empathetic front-line reception service, managing telephone inquiries from healthcare professionals and service users.
* Schedule appointments and manage clinic bookings.
* Process, correct and validate data to maintain accuracy and completeness.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR and confidentiality standards while handling sensitive service user information.
* Maintain manual and computerised filing systems, ensuring that records are securely stored and easily retrievable.
* Provide clear information, guidance and administrative support to service users and the multidisciplinary team.
* Ensure all activities comply with GDPR and data privacy regulations to protect confidentiality.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Fast and accurate typing skills, with experience in dictaphone being highly beneficial.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong telephone and reception skills, with a polite, professional and patient-focused approach.
* Ability to manage a busy workload, prioritise tasks and multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
* High attention to detail when handling records and documentation.
* Ability to work independently, identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance department efficiency.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to support clinical and administrative functions.
