Job Title: Staff Grade & Senior Speech and Language Therapist (Paediatrics - Primary Care) Location: Shankill Primary Care Centre Contract Type: Full-time, Agency Contract (6-12 months with potential for extension) Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday Salary: HSE Aligned Pay Scales (Staff Grade & Senior Speech and Language Therapist) Excel Recruitment are recruiting both Staff Grade and Senior Speech and Language Therapists on behalf of a HSE Paediatric Primary Care team based in Shankill. About the Role The successful candidates will provide high-quality, evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to children with a range of speech, language, and communication needs. Working as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will support children and their families through early intervention and primary care services, promoting communication skills, participation, and confidence. Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to children with speech, language, and communication needs. Work collaboratively with families to set individualised therapy goals and provide practical, evidence-based strategies. Conduct both clinic-based and community visits, depending on the needs of the child and family. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Public Health Nurses, Social Workers, Dietitians, and GPs. Support parents, carers, and educators through training, advice, and communication programmes. Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with HSE and professional standards. Contribute to service planning, audits, and quality improvement initiatives. Engage in regular supervision, peer review, and CPD to maintain and develop professional knowledge and skills. Requirements Recognised qualification approved by the Speech and Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU. Current CORU registration (essential). Experience working with a paediatric caseload (placements considered for strong Staff Grade applicants). Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle for community visits (essential).
