About the Role
The Student Counsellor provides confidential services to students with personal difficulties that impact academic performance.
* Individual counselling for emotional, psychological, academic, or personal development needs.
* Group counselling to enhance academic progress and personal/social development.
* Liaising with other student support services.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
* Deliver seminars/workshops on life skills/personal development, stress management, etc.
* Collaborate with staff on special programs/projects.
* Support student groups, such as Student Union Welfare Officers.
* Evaluate, consumer satisfaction, and research related to the Service.
* Maintain close links with external services for referrals.
Requirements
The ideal candidate must have:
* A 2nd class Honours degree in psychology or equivalent.
* Postgraduate qualification in clinical psychology/counselling or educational psychology.
* Membership or eligibility of a professional body.
* Substantial counselling experience.
