Operations Manager Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team. This is a key leadership position that requires strong technical expertise and operational oversight.
About the Role:
This role involves managing production, training staff, purchasing, and supporting business growth through customer engagement and technical site visits.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead welding and fabrication efforts, taking on complex and technically demanding projects.
* Oversee production planning to ensure jobs are delivered on time and to the highest standard.
* Oversee purchasing of materials and supplies, maintaining strong supplier relationships.
* Train and upskill team members, maintaining high safety and quality standards on the floor.
* Engage with customers one day a week, building relationships and addressing project needs.
* Conduct technical site visits to assess client requirements and help win new business.
* Review and improve production processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and profitability.
Requirements:
* Must have extensive experience of MIG and TIG stainless steel welding and fabrication and be able to demonstrate this.
* Experience managing production and operations in a fabrication or engineering setting.
* Solid background in engineering, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specs.
* Strong leadership and people development skills.
* Comfortable managing customer relationships and representing the company on-site.
* Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
