DutiesClerk of Works/Building Inspector are required to perform a range of tasks including but not limited to the following: Supervising the construction and refurbishment of public infrastructure projects and of the other works required to deliver projects on budget and on timeReport to and take direction from the relevant Employer's representative for the duration of major infrastructure projectsCompile and keep such records as may be necessary in relation to works including the submission of reports as required and furnishing data for final costingEnsure compliance with contract drawings and specificationCarry out public procurement of goods, services and worksCarry out inspections, surveys, keep detailed records and prepare relevant reportsHave strong relevant technical capabilityDeal with the public, customers and contractors etc.Take measurements and samples on site to make sure that the work and the materials meet the specifications and quality standardsSupervise contractors to ensure that all works are carried out as per specification and in compliance with requirementsMonitor of on-site construction, photographic recording, materials quality and standard; building materials testing and certificate verification and attend site and carry out inspections as requiredValidation of "As Built" records and safety files where applicableHave a good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and requirementsComply with the Health & Safety Management System and assist in its ongoing developmentComply with Health & Safety regulations and awareness of on-site safety and participation at and reporting to site meetings.To undertake any other duties of a similar level and responsibility, as may be required or assigned from time to time.
