General Summary
Join a dynamic team at Qualcomm focused on advancing state‑of‑the‑art in ML applications. The team invents ML techniques that will change the way chips and systems are designed, by reducing long‑loop iterations and enabling deeper exploration of the design solution space. We work on unsolved problems by applying ML to all aspects of VLSI from FrontEnd design to Backend and Digital and Analog circuits, with tons of data (each chip has billions of transistors).
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
You will be expected to work in a cross‑functional team of ML, CAD, IT, 5G, RF, Digital/Analog Design experts on identifying new opportunities to apply ML, exploring advanced ML techniques, developing/testing/tuning ML algorithms, and writing/deploying/supporting production‑ready software to design teams, with an opportunity to contribute to one of the emerging new frontiers in ML innovation in this large space of unsolved problems.
Role requires five days per week onsite in our Cork office
Preferred Qualifications
Strong team player
Experience in engineering competitive ML solutions
Hands‑on programming is a must (Python)
Strong analytical and communication skills
Ability to pick up new skills and apply to new areas
Experience with VLSI chip design (verification, physical design, timing, etc)
Experience with MLOps software (from development to deployment)
Experience with advanced ML techniques and theory (e.g., graph neural networks, reinforcement learning)
Experience with CAD optimization algorithms

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience
Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience
PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field
