We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Commercial Manager to join our team in Kildare.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
Act as the company's representative in all commercial discussions, negotiations, and meetings.
Provide expert commercial guidance and contract administration support to directors and project teams.
Work closely with finance and project managers to ensure accurate cost reporting and forecasting.
Prepare, submit, and negotiate valuations, payment applications, variations, and reconciliations for both main contracts and subcontracts.
Track and manage project cash flow, delivering timely and accurate updates to senior management.
Maximise recovery of contractual entitlements through clear communication and robust negotiation.
Collaborate with procurement on the appointment of subcontractors and suppliers in line with project schedules.
Lead, mentor, and develop commercial staff, driving performance and professional growth.
Review contract documents to identify obligations, risks, and opportunities.
Oversee the preparation and agreement of interim and final accounts with clients and supply chain partners.
Monitor project progress, valuations, and site measures to ensure accurate commercial reporting.
Record and manage variations, delays, and potential claims, preparing and negotiating submissions where required.
Assess subcontractor performance and provide feedback to improve procurement and delivery outcomes.
Ensure strict compliance with company policies and procedures, protecting the company's commercial and financial interests.
Candidate Profile
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Chartered membership with RICS, SCSI, CIOB, or equivalent professional body is desirable.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in commercial management roles within the construction industry.
Extensive experience in public sector contracts and frameworks.
Strong background in contract administration, claims preparation, and cost management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills.
Full clean Irish/EU driving licence.
Demonstrated leadership ability with a proven track record of managing and developing commercial teams.
