We are looking for a qualified Legal and Business Affairs Executive to join our Legal and Business Affairs department. Reporting to the Head of Policy, Legal and Business Affairs, this role involves managing a significant portion of project contracting, with a need for understanding audiovisual financial structures and legal issues within the sector. The candidate must work independently under pressure, prioritize tasks, exercise sound judgment, and ensure contractual compliance.
The role is expected to be at the First Point level, corresponding to the Higher Executive Officer position.
Key Responsibilities:
* Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts for funding awards related to production and development in film, TV, animation, and documentaries.
* Assist with project scheduling, queries, and resolving legal and financial issues.
* Monitor and track payments, ensuring contractual compliance.
* Support the development of efficient legal workflows to improve operations.
* Ensure adherence to industry regulations, legal requirements, and internal policies.
* Contribute to strategic legal and business initiatives.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate contractual and legal compliance.
* Perform additional duties as required to meet organizational needs.
Minimum Requirements:
* A relevant third-level qualification.
* At least two years of experience in a similar role.
* Experience managing large volumes of communication and documentation.
* Knowledge of Data Protection legislation and Freedom of Information.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
* Experience in audiovisual financing and legal structures.
* Ability to draft complex legal and commercial documents.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, hybrid environment.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Experience in the commercial sector.
* Understanding of Screen Ireland's role in the creative industry.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Leadership experience.
Knowledge of project development and IP rights is advantageous, as is experience within the film, television, or media industry. High integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information are essential. Irish language skills are desirable.
Additional Information:
This position is at the Executive Officer level, with a salary of €58,264 per annum. It is a full-time, fixed-term contract with a 6-month probation period, based in Dublin or Galway. The role involves signing the Screen Ireland Code of Conduct and adhering to public service competency frameworks. Candidates must be citizens of the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or hold a Stamp 4 or Stamp 5 visa, and must be eligible by the time of the job offer.
