Post 1923 - Senior Quality Scientist (Dublin) Dublin(NBC) Post 1923: Senior Quality Scientist Materials Management Laboratory Full Time - Specified Purpose National Blood Centre, James's Street, Dublin 8 The IBTS is recruiting a full-time, Senior Materials Scientist based in the Materials Management Laboratory at the National Blood Centre, James's Street, Dublin 8. Specified Purpose Contract for Maternity Leave. This is an exciting role within the Material Management Laboratory in the IBTS; the post-holder will become part of a motivated team of scientists involved in the management of critical materials used by the IBTS. The department has responsibility for batch acceptance of critical materials (Blood bags sets, apheresis sets, collection tubes, Tissue bank materials) and includes handling Critical Material defects. Management of Medicinal Products is a key responsibility of the department In conjunction with the Quality Control Manager this role plays an important role in collaborative frameworks with international Blood Establishments. Essential Requirements: Master of Science (MSc) in a relevant biological science or material management. At least four years' work experience in a biological, quality control or materials laboratory in a healthcare or pharmaceutical setting. Demonstration of GDMP/GLP process experience. Experience in the implementation of changes to systems or equipment. Experience in the management of materials used in a laboratory or manufacturing setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrating an ability to work in and promote teamwork in a demanding environment. Ability to work independently with confidence, showing strong decision-making capabilities. Desirable Requirements: Experience with participating in audits (internal and external) Experience in the validation of laboratory instruments The salary scale attached to the post is the RPAL Senior Scientist scale: €61,830 to €82,687 pro-rata per annum.
