The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering large-scale civil engineering works essential to Scotland's renewable infrastructure development.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures, and maintain personal safety standards.
* Manage, supervise, and mentor the project team as appropriate.
* Adopt cost-effective management practices through efficient use of resources.
* Implement and promote the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) technologies to deliver project requirements.
* Maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders and the supply chain.
* Establish and monitor effective programme-based cost management systems.
* Prepare realistic short, medium, and contract programmes.
* Ensure method statements and risk assessments are prepared, briefed, reviewed, and updated.
* Prepare records for measurement and payment purposes.
* Make necessary site-based appointments with suitably trained and experienced staff.
* Communicate effectively with all levels of the team through regular progress meetings.
* Keep off-site line management informed of potential problems and future work opportunities.
* Establish close working relationships with the buying department and general foreman.
* Take a personal interest in developing staff to their next level.
* Stay up-to-date with professional field developments.
Requirements:
* Chartered status or equivalent qualification.
* Successful management experience of a section of a major project or acting as sub agent on a similar project.
* Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation.
* Working knowledge of construction techniques and contract law relevant to construction contracts.
* Able to communicate effectively at all levels.
