Position Summary
This role is pivotal in leading the day-to-day operations of the Irish Field Service Team while also playing a strategic role in establishing and expanding the ROI business.
The successful candidate will split their time between operational leadership and business development, legal entity setup, and customer engagement activities.
Our Ireland Field Service Team currently includes four Field Service Engineers (FSEs), operating across both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
With a new legal entity established in ROI and a robust business case in place, we're entering a pivotal growth phase.
As Ireland Service Manager, you will play a key leadership role—
60% focused on daily operational management
and
40% on business development and strategic expansion
within ROI.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1) First Line Team Management and Team Performance
Responsible for 1st line Management duties including direction, prioritization, and leadership for the assigned FSE Team.
Conduct regular 1:1 reviews, manage sickness, holidays, return to work, mentoring, inductions, and coaching.
Undertake Individual Competency Assessments and collaborate with the Training Manager to create Individual Training Plans.
Foster a positive work culture to improve communication, morale, and team competence.
Ensure effective audits and follow-up actions across all team operations.
2) Field Service Operational Performance and Excellence
Ensure technical excellence in service, maintenance, and engineering for all planned and reactive maintenance.
Ensure compliance with company technical and health & safety standards.
3) Team Financial Management and Performance
Achieve conformance to key financial budgets including overtime, recruitment, training, and van/tool discrepancies.
4) Customer Focus and Service Business Development
Champion a customer-centric culture through effective communication, coordination, and service delivery.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of site reports, risk assessments, and follow-up documentation.
Lead the development of the new ROI legal entity and oversee the business start-up process.
Engage with existing and prospective customers to identify new service opportunities, projects, and contract growth.
About You:
Qualifications & Experience:
Engineering/Maintenance Qualification (Mechanical/Electrical/Manufacturing)
2+ years in a line management role
Experience with Material Handling Equipment or related fields
IOSH/SMSTS/SSSTS or equivalent H&S Certification
Skills & Knowledge:
Demonstrable experience managing a team
Proficient in Word, Email, Excel
Commercial and contract management awareness
Client management skills
Background in engineering or manufacturing industries
Knowledge of CMMS
Valid Driving Licence
Familiarity with business practices across ROI and NI
Proficient in MS Office
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Results-oriented and effective time management
Team building and coaching skills
Familiarity with Irish business culture (NI and ROI)
