Purpose of the RoleThe purpose of this role is to provide high quality child and family centred care across all areas of the Emergency Department:To work as part of a nursing team within a larger MDT to provide nursing care for children and their families within the ED;The post holder will be exposed to all areas of the ED, developing core skills with a structured career progression pathway within Paediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM);To provide clinical leadership to a designated nursing team and ensure the provision of high-quality care;To act as a role model and expert clinical practitioner;To ensure the provision of a high standard of care to families is consistent with the mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of the hospital;To assist in the safe, effective and efficient management of the department within allocated resources;To promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence-based practice.To undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of the CNMs. In carrying out these duties ensuring confidentiality surrounding the Child’s care & treatment is maintained at all times.
Essential RequirementsRegistered Children’s Nurse with experience working in the Emergency Department or Registered General Nurse with acute paediatric Emergency Department experience.Proven record of continuous professional development.Excellent communication skills.
