Part-time Clerical Officer - Pre-Assessment Clinic - UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic, Dublin
Location: UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic, Santry, Dublin 9
Job type: Part-time Contract of Employment (15 hours per week)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensuring
patient data is filed in appropriate patient's chart which includes:
Liaising with GP
office requesting medical information.
Incoming faxes
applied to outside of patient's chart for medical doctor to sign and then
filed in patient's correspondence.
Lab reports,
microbiology reports and E.C.G are filed in patients' chart.
Ensuring Patient's
details medical questionnaire and appropriate fax correspondence are correct
before filing.
File all bloods on
a daily basis.
Assist medical
team with outgoing faxes and scanning requests and data required from
GP/consultants office.
Having charts
required for surgery completed in timely accurate and comprehensive manner
for review.
Answer telephone
queries in P.A.C and deal with any queries that may arise.
Update patient
files
Maintain patient
confidentially in all aspects of medical records
Typing
photocopying scanning, filing, tidying, and maintenance of medical records
as required
Check stock level
of stationary and re-order stocks and supplies daily.
When PAC charts
are completed place in appropriate filing cabinet.
Collect pre -assessment
mail from admissions.
Check voicemails
daily and log and communicate messages to clinical staff.
Have a flexible attitude
Understand confidentiality and data protection
You may be required, from time to time, at the discretion of the Director of Nursing, to work in other departments within the UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic.
Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the values of the clinic.
Create and promote healthy working relationships.
Liaising with wound clinic and scheduling patient wound clinic appointments
Liaising with cardiology department and scheduling of Echo appointments
Liaising with Phlebotomy department to schedule patients for return appointments for Phlebotomy department.
Qualifications & Experience:
At least 2 years previous clerical experience
Previous experience of working within an acute/clinical setting.
Computer literate
Accurate data
entry and keyboard skills
Ability to work as
part of a team and without supervision as necessary
Good
organisational skills
Effective
communication skills – written and verbal
Good
time management skills, ability to prioritise work and ability to remain
organised under pressure
