The prestigious Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence highlights our commitment to continuous improvement and a culture of excellence, delivering sustainable results year after year.PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a range of complex accounting, tax and statutory reporting activities. This role reports to the CFS Finance Manager and supports Abbott Ireland in business areas such as transfer pricing, corporation tax, VAT, maintaining tax risk registers, statutory accounting, external and internal audit support. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Support Finance Manager in delivery of strategic projects and execution of Revenue Cooperative Compliance Framework (CCF) requirementsCorporation tax calculation and reconciliation of monthly current tax / deferred taxPreparation and filing of corporate tax returns including R & D tax credit submissionCompletion of quarterly and annual corporate tax packs as requiredLiaising with and reporting to Corporate Tax as requiredEnsure robust risk registers in place for all tax heads, with regular monitoring in place to ensure completenessCo-ordinate self-reviews of tax head compliance across all Abbott Ireland sites, identifying and supporting implementation of process improvements where requiredManagement of Product/Pricing Flows for the Abbott Ireland entity and ensuring processing is aligned with trade agreementsContinuous review and improvement of processes for efficient and effective tax complianceEnsure delivery of statutory accounts in support of corporate, country/legal entity timelinesBuild relationships and interact with site stakeholders to provide support, technical expertise and guidanceResponsible for ensuring on time completion and submission of statutory/regulatory returns for entities in scope, including CSO, Secretarial and Revenue VAT, VIES/ Intrastat and returnsLiaise with Internal and External Auditors as requiredEstablish culture of continuous improvement within the team, and liaise with CFS EMEA hub to ensure end to end process improvement opportunities are identified and implementedDevelop new and streamline existing processes and systems as required to ensure more efficient delivery of value-add information to both internal and external stakeholdersEnsure that the internal control environment is operating as intended and that any improvements are implemented in a timely fashionPrepare and analyse cost information for presentation to and review by key stakeholdersREQUIREMENTS:Qualified Accountant – ACA, CPA, ACCA, CIMABS degree in Accounting or FinanceStrong written and verbal communication skillsHands-on and self-starter mentalityAble to manage responsibilities independentlyExcellent financial analysis skills with ability to summarise data into high quality summariesStrong computer skills especially MS Office & Power BIPREFERENCES:5+ years relevant experience in a complex global environment – preferably within a multi-currency, US GAAP based financial closeSAP or other major ERP Systems experienceMinimum language skillsFluent in English essentialThe base pay for this position is N/AIn specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.JOB FAMILY:Accounting & ReportingDIVISION:IFO International FinanceLOCATION:Ireland > Sligo : Carbury Point, Finisklin Industrial & Technology Park, SligoADDITIONAL LOCATIONS:WORK SHIFT:Ie - Cfsflx39 (Ireland)TRAVEL:Not specifiedMEDICAL SURVEILLANCE:YesSIGNIFICANT WORK ACTIVITIES:Not Applicable
