About XOCEAN
XOCEAN is an ocean data company – we collect data for clients ranging from mapping the seabed to monitoring the environment. However, we do this differently, instead of using conventional crewed survey ships, we have developed a marine robotic system known as an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV).
Overview
We are seeking a Data Analyst to support our growing data operations, working with large datasets from autonomous surface vessels (USVs). You will be responsible for analyzing operational, survey, and performance data while ensuring data integrity and automation of reporting systems.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Analyze and process large datasets from offshore surveys, including navigation and geospatial data.
* Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to visualize operational efficiency, survey progress, and utilization metrics.
* Create data models and reports to support decision-making across projects, using SQL and Python.
* Ensure data quality and consistency by implementing data validation and governance frameworks.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including survey engineers and operations teams, to provide actionable insights.
* Automate data workflows using Power Query, Python, and SQL to optimize reporting processes.
* Support predictive analytics and machine learning initiatives to improve survey forecasting and vessel performance.
Requirements: Essential Skills / Attributes and Experience
* 2-5 years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role.
* Strong proficiency in Power BI, SQL,Grafana ( or similar tools) and Python for data processing and automation.
* Experience working with large datasets from marine, geospatial, or operational data sources.
* Knowledge of data governance, quality control, and reporting best practices.
* Familiarity with cloud-based data storage (AWS/Azure) and automation tools like Power Automate is a plus.
* Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
* Experience in agile project management is a plus.
