SLR continues to grow and our engineering teams are looking to recruit a project delivery team located in Ireland, with a focus on process engineering, project and contract management, and civil engineering.
Within the delivery team, we are looking for up to five candidates with a broad range of in-country and industry skills and experience. The successful applicants will join an established team that continues to excel in a range of renewable energy and decarbonisation asset types (e.g., Biomethane, Biomass, Solar, BESS [battery], and Wind). Depending on experience, members of the team will have opportunities to act as a project director, project manager, project engineer, write proposals, develop business and manage clients and the interface with clients and contractors.
SLR has an in-depth understanding of renewable energy projects and the challenges our client's face in today's fast changing world. Through our sustainability advice and consulting experience we deliver real change for our clients in achieving their decarbonisation and energy transition goals. We are logical thinkers with the capability to look at problems from various angles and come up with innovative, practical, cost-effective solutions. You will form a key part of the team based in Ireland, and, may also have the opportunity to support in the delivery of projects across the UK, continental Europe and potentially further afield.
Our Engineering and Energy Advisory service lines has expertise across a range of engineering specialisms including process, process safety, civil, geotechnical, transport, chemical, materials, and mechanical engineering. We have particular expertise in conceptualising and delivering innovative renewable energy, solid waste management, bioenergy and industrial decarbonisation solutions.
As engineers and project managers, we work with many other disciplines across SLR and on different projects in terms of their length and complexity. We provide clients with expertise at all stages of a project from concept designs to commissioning and testing and on to performance improvement and optimisation. Our Engineering team provides clients with expertise at all project stages, including:
* Feasibility studies;
* Technical Due Diligence;
* Front End Engineering and Concept Design Studies;
* Process Design Review and Optimisation;
* Project development support;
* Owners Engineer / Lenders Technical Advisor;
* Project and Contract Management;
* Commissioning and Performance Testing;
* HAZOP/HAZID Studies;
* Lifecycle carbon assessment; and
* Civil engineering support.
About the roles
The roles cover Project Director, Project Manager and Project Engineers and will be primarily focused on providing our clients with support on delivering renewable energy and decarbonisation projects on Ireland. Projects will involve technologies such as biomethane, carbon capture, solar, battery, wind, and emerging technologies such as biofuels and hydrogen. Our projects involve us leading and supporting other specialists on a range of projects both in Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe.
You will work with others in the engineering and energy advisory teams on a wide variety of different projects. Depending on experience and specific skills set your responsibilities can be clustered around some or all of the following:

* Review of process engineering designs (P&IDs and key equipment).
* Mass and energy balance reviews.

In order to succeed, we would envisage that you would be able to bring/demonstrate:
Essential
• Degree in Engineering or similar subject;
• Experience in process and/or civil engineering renewable energy projects;
• Numerate and confident with data, with excellent report writing skills and IT literate, particularly with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
• Must be able to work independently and within a team;
• Well organised and logical thinker, friendly and outgoing with good communication skills; and
• Full, current, clean driving licence with ability to travel;
• Resident, or eligible to live work in Ireland.
Desirable
· Masters degree;
· Chartered Engineer (or working towards a professional qualification or membership of a professional body);
· Project management experience of renewable energy projects within a consultancy environment;
