Role Overview
This candidate will play a leading role in shaping DMI's external partnership ecosystem.
This role is dedicated to managing and nurturing strategic partnerships that accelerate DMI's mission to position Ireland at the forefront of digital manufacturing and AI-enabled innovation.
Unlike traditional business development roles, this position focuses on ecosystem building and long-term strategic value rather than short-term transactions.
The candidate will cultivate high-value collaborations, and support partnership models that unlock innovation opportunities for DMI and its stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Manage and Nurture partnerships with leading technology providers, vendors, universities, and research organisations.
Support the long-term strategic roadmap for partnerships aligned to DMI's AI, digital, and manufacturing priorities.
Operate within frameworks to evaluate, prioritise, and scale partnership opportunities.
Ensure ecosystem partnerships contribute directly to DMI's Centres of Excellence and strategic service areas.
Facilitate collaboration between external partners and internal teams (Technical Services, AI Centre of Excellence).
Co-develop pilot projects, research initiatives, or innovation programmes with external partners.
Ensure partner contributions enhance DMI's ability to deliver repeatable, scalable services.
Strategic Alignment
Align partnership activities with DMI's organisational strategy and client-facing priorities.
Work closely with the Director of Data, Digital & Partnerships to focus efforts on the highest-value relationships.
Provide strategic reporting and insights to leadership on partnership ecosystem development.
Key Skills and Competencies
Skills & Experience Required
A minimum of 4 years' experience in client management, partnership development, ecosystem building, and/or strategic alliances.
Strong understanding of digital transformation, Industry 4.0, or AI/data-driven technologies.
Proven ability to identify and cultivate long-term strategic partnerships.
Excellent networking, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
Strategic mindset with the ability to connect emerging technology trends to business and industry needs.
Required & Desired Qualifications
Degree in Business, Science, or Engineering related field.
A data Science background would be an advantage.
Experience in manufacturing, innovation hubs, or research-led environments.
Established professional networks in technology or industrial ecosystems.
Familiarity with scaling partnership frameworks in multi-stakeholder environments.
