Our Partner is looking for an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer / Operator to join an established engineering team within a world-renowned precision engineering company. The CNC Programmer / Operator will be responsible for programming and operate state of the art CNC machines for the production of precision components for the Medical and Aerospace sectors.
Role Overview:
The CNC Lathe Programmer / Operator will be responsible for programming and setting up CNC Lathes in the most effective and efficient way to machine parts from design drawings.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
* Prepare and operate CNC Lathes - FANUC Controller
* Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
* Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the lathes
* Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts or one off.
* Supervise the lathes while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
* Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
* Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality (TPM)
Skills and Attributes:
* Proven experience as lathe operator
* Programming experience using G-Codes and M-Codes
* Skill in operating lathes machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
* Experience in operation/setting CNC lathes
* Knowledge of controller desired: FANUC
* Experience in one off/ prototyping environment.
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
* A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
