Job Overview:
The position of Automation Engineer is a key role in supporting manufacturing and R&D projects on-site.
This senior engineer will play a critical part in designing, developing, and implementing automation systems and processes to drive efficiency and productivity improvements across the organization.
* Develop and implement automation systems and processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
* Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, objectives, and timelines.
* Design and create detailed project plans, including resource allocation, risk assessments, and feasibility studies.
* Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation equipment and software.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
* Provide training and support to end-users on the operation and maintenance of automation systems.
* Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals, maintenance procedures, and project reports.
Key Requirements:
* Relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree qualification at National Framework of Qualifications (NQF) level 7.
* Proven experience in automation engineering, preferably within the medical device industry.
* Strong knowledge of automation systems, PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
* Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
* Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is advantageous.
