We are looking for a Process / Mechanical Project Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative OTS team, working on a client site in Cork.
The Process / Mechanical Project Engineer will lead the design aspect of the Strategic Capital Programs required to deliver capacity and business continuity planning (BCP) for the client.
The role is responsible for directing project design teams responsible for identifying, specifying, validating, and optimizing equipment, and all critical expenditure required to safeguard the future of the business.
This role will require communication at senior leadership level, liaising with external agencies ensuring compliance with planning laws and regulations.

Responsibilities Project identification with subsequent scope and business case development Manage Project Execution particularly overseeing contractors/vendors from Health & Safety standpoint Lead the execution of capital projects ensuring best practices using engineering, regulatory & environmental standards Oversee the design, procurement, budgeting, installation, testing, factory acceptance testing, validation, commissioning and handover of new process equipment / safety upgrades to operations Participate in HAZOP studies Develop Change Control document for works/changes to commence on site Lead the project kickoff meeting with relevant project stakeholders (Process, electrical, automation & civil contractors) Lead the project constructability review meeting (i.e.
scaffolding, MEWP, hot works, crane lifts etc) Approval of project schedule and monitoring timelines, critical path of project throughout the project lifecycle Manage snag lists, weld logs, test packs, test inspection plans, redline drawings, P&ID upgrades etc Approve technical submittals from contractor (Materials, equipment datasheets, tank drawings, Isometrics etc).
Reviewing/approving method statements prior to issuing permit to work on site.
(Cold works, hot works, working at height, confined space, red tag and LOTO) Lead weekly progress report meetings and the weekly safety review meeting.
Lead the project teams of engineers (staff and contract) across local and global sites to deliver the design on strategic capital projects Lead the development and delivery of new technology and innovative solutions to future-proof and modernise the Client business in line with Industry 4.0 Develop and leverage best practices from Client divisions as well as from other industries to deliver world class performance in plant and equipment design Responsible for design solutions needed to deliver technically complex solutions Provide technical guidance during project design and implementation, including Commissioning & Process Qualification, to assure viability of technology in proposed configuration Utilize Engineering first principles, scientific methods, and processing systems knowledge to develop technical process equipment solutions that both create new business opportunities and solve existing equipment needs Develop sustainable engineering practices and programmes ensuring sustainability in plant design and operation Qualifications Degree qualification in Chemical, Process, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Min 10+ years process industry experience in engineering with additional operations or maintenance exposure and extensive capital project management experience Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to work at all levels in an international organization Extensive Experience required in the following areas: Process plant technical standards Project concept development Business case and capital approval Design, Procurement and Installation Construction, Commissioning and Validation Environmental, health and safety management Contractor and Construction Management RECRUITMENTS AGENCIES NOT REQUIRED
