Report to: Managing Director
We’re looking for a Commercial Underwriting Manager to lead an underwriting team and drive profitable growth across the commercial lines portfolio. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior leadership role, combining hands-on technical underwriting with team leadership and broker relationship management.
What you’ll be doing
* Lead and manage a team of 6 (4 underwriters, 1 new business specialist, 1 admin).
* Underwrite and review complex/large commercial cases while supporting junior colleagues.
* Build and strengthen broker relationships to drive new business and retention.
* Deliver growth and profitability in line with board objectives.
* Oversee product development, pricing, and process improvements.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and capital provider requirements.
* Report directly to the Managing Director and contribute to strategy.
About you
* Proven experience in commercial underwriting management or a senior underwriting role.
* Strong knowledge of commercial property, liability, combined liability, and property owners products.
* A track record of delivering profitable underwriting results.
* Excellent leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
* Strong broker relationship and negotiation skills.
* Confident with underwriting systems and Microsoft Office.
Package
* Salary: €80–90k (depending on experience).
* Bonus: Performance bonus
