To carry out analysis as required in accordance with internal procedures and waste licence regulations and to support the operations of the chemistry lab.Key ResponsibilitiesTo carry out lab analysis in the chemistry laboratory depending on business and customer needs inclusive of specific project assignments and INAB accredited compliance testing.To carry out sample reception for all samples entering the labTo perform analytical testing according to test method SOPs on incoming wastewater and other samples on a daily basis and to record, interpret and report results of same.To assist in the identification of equipment and or workflow issues and to troubleshoot and recommend the most appropriate course of action.To document all results in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance with the company's systems and procedures.To proactively address and highlight potential issues and solutions to the relevant department/ personnel when necessary.To update and maintain records as required in order to maintain and or obtain INAB accreditation for test parameters, other external approvals and EPA waste management licence.To work closely with other lab personnel to validate new methods as appropriate.To control consumables used within the lab and stock levels of same.To adhere to the company's health and safety policies and procedures at all timesAdhere to good housekeeping practicesSkills, Knowledge And ExpertiseThird level qualification in Environmental or Analytical science or equivalent degree required2+ years lab experience would be distinct advantage including GCMS and Spectrometry analysis.Previous work in a regulated laboratory environment or Wastewater specialised laboratory treatment works is an advantage.Ambitious individual capable of working on own initiative or as part of a team.Excellent problem solving and trouble shooting skills.PC literate; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, E-mail, LIMS etc.Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsThe above description is a general outline of the requirements of the role.
