The Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) in County Leitrim is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant to join their dynamic, child- and family-centred service.
As part of the interdisciplinary team, you will work under the guidance of Occupational Therapists to support children and young people with complex needs. This role involves assisting with therapy programmes, preparing resources and equipment, supporting group and individual interventions, and working in partnership with families and carers to promote participation in everyday activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of Occupational Therapy programmes in homes, schools, and clinic settings.
* Prepare, adapt, and maintain therapy resources and equipment.
* Assist with group and individual therapy sessions.
* Encourage and motivate children to achieve their developmental goals.
* Record and report on children’s progress in line with service guidelines.
* Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
* QQI Level 5 Health Skills qualification with minor awards in Occupational Therapy Assistant Theory and Practice (NFQ Level 5)
* Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional needs (desirable).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
* Full driving licence and access to own transport (desirable).
