Munster Technological University wishes to appoint a Project Officer to assist with the delivery of Teaching, Learning, Assessment and Student Engagement (TLASE) projects.
The position is based within the Teaching and Learning Unit (TLU) working with regional, national and international collaborative projects including the INGENIUM European University Alliance.
The post holder will work on various projects under the direction of the Head of Teaching & Learning Unit.
This position will be based in the Cork Campus but may involve travel between MTU campuses.
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Teaching & Learning Unit, An SEO The Student Engagement Office and Art Office.
This line management arrangement may be amended as MTUs organisational structure evolves over time.
Duties and responsibilities of the position: Project co-ordination, promotion and administration o Work with TLU and An SEO teams to develop and co-ordinate TLASE enhancement projects.
o Contribute to the ongoing development and direction of current and evolving TLU and An SEO projects with academic departments/central supports.
o Develop excellent visual and written content for use across multiple media.
o Keep up-to date with current practices and programmes relevant to work streams of TLU and An SEO.
o Participate in awareness raising of up-to-date research and best practice.
o Organise and co-ordinate TLASE events as required.
Gathering and collation of qualitative and quantitative data and information: o Develop consistent personal and project team good practice in data collection and management, ensuring compliance with relevant data protection legislation.
o Keep records of TLU/An SEO meetings with academic staff and students as appropriate and in line with MTUs legal responsibilities.
o Support financial and activity reporting relating to TLU/An SEO funded TLASE enhancement projects.
o Collect and collate updates and metrics on project activities, progress, and priorities.
o Liaise with central administration services for procurement, expenses, invoices as needed to support TLASE events.
o Attend and contribute to meetings as required and report on main discussion points and decisions, following up on action points o Provide project co-ordination and administrative support to Head of Function, TLU.
Other: Other duties as may be assigned by Head of Function or their delegates.
As the needs of the University change the above duties of the role may be adjusted accordingly.
Essential Criteria: Have obtained at least Grade D3 (H6/O6) in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate Examination (higher, ordinary, applied or vocational programmes) or equivalent OR have passed an examination at the appropriate level within the QQI qualifications framework which can be standard or equivalent or higher OR have appropriate relevant experience which encompasses equivalent skills and expertise assessed as being of a comparable to Leaving Certificate.
Experience in a post which indicates the potential of the applicant to perform the main duties of the post.
Relevant administrative experience which demonstrates a competency on the systems and structures which underpin the functioning of the University.
Ability to relate well to diverse cohorts of students and relevant faculty staff.
Demonstrable experience of report writing and website content updates Event Management experience.
Highly skilled in MS Office, Office 365, TEAMS and Zoom.
Experience of working as part of a team.
Demonstrable ability to work on their own initiative.
Evidence of self-development.
Desirable Criteria: An Honours Primary degree (second class or higher) in one or more of the following: education, finance, multimedia or a closely related field from a recognised degree awarding authority.
OR Relevant equivalent professional qualification(s) obtained through examination.
AND two years relevant experience.
Practical experience and knowledge of project management methodologies, event planning.
PR and implementation.
Knowledge and understanding of student engagement, teaching and learning, retention and employability issues, and the evidence-base behind interventions for success in HE.
Ability to research best practice, extract and prepare relevant information for dissemination and use to inform development of project.
Website management and content creations abilities.
Terms of Appointment: Salary Range - Grade V: €51,723 to €61,863 per annum including long service increments.
1 year fixed-term, whole-time position.
Hours: 35 hours per week.
Annual leave: 25 days per annum.
