Your work will bring engineering excellence values to life at every level of engineering, unifying agile approaches across projects and teams.Location: This role may be held anywhere in European, Middle Eastern, African or Americas regions or time zones.
ResponsibilitiesLead the effort to make Ubuntu fit for mission-critical regulated environments (e.g., automotive, aerospace, industrial robotics).Transform complex regulatory demands into concrete outcomes and engineering excellence values and practices.Lead and challenge engineering culture; work with teams across the organization to bring practices to life at all levels.Define and implement continuous improvement processes and establish qualification requirements in support of engineering quality standards.Define methods and approaches for measuring quality and use them to shape and sharpen engineering culture.Establish strategic relations with external working groups, committees and partners.Collaborate with Canonical’s engineering leadership to define and deliver the vision as part of the industrial standards team.
What we are looking for in youYou have strong experience in engineering and process management in an agile environment.You have knowledge or certification of standards addressing quality of software artifacts such as ISO/IEC 25010 or ASPICE.You enjoy developing and growing people and teams and have a track record of doing it.You have led successful compliance and certification efforts and understand the process and stakeholder management required.You have experience with Linux.
Additional skills that you might also bringBackground as a software developer.Experience in establishing product engineering development metrics and KPIs.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
