Job Title: Financial Support Assistant
Job Purpose:
To provide financial support to the business, ensuring that financial records are accurate and up-to-date. This role is ideal for someone looking to start or progress a career in accounting and finance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the processing of purchase invoices and sales invoices
* Perform bank reconciliations and monitor bank accounts
* Support credit control by chasing outstanding payments
* Maintain accurate and organised financial records and documentation
* Help with the preparation of monthly reports and financial statements
* Assist in processing staff expenses and petty cash claims
* Support with VAT returns and other compliance reporting
* Respond to queries from internal departments and external suppliers
* Help ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures
* Provide general administrative support to the finance team
Person Specification:
* A keen interest in accounting and finance
* Good numeracy and attention to detail
* Basic understanding of bookkeeping or financial processes
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently
