Orange Recruitment are seeking a talented and motivated Automation Engineer to join our clients glowing engineering team.
This role offers the opportunity for an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and commission automation systems that support advanced manufacturing operations across their global production network.
As an Automation Engineer you'll play a key role in delivering world-class automation solutions and ensuring consistent engineering standards across multiple sites.
Responsibilities: Design, program, and implement automation and control systems to improve manufacturing performance and reliability across international facilities.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for PLCs, drives, SCADA, and automation networks within production environments.
Lead or support commissioning activities for new or upgraded equipment, ensuring smooth handover to operations teams.
Collaborate closely with production, quality, and safety teams to deliver projects that meet performance, compliance, and safety objectives.
Contribute to the development of global engineering standards, control philosophies, and best practices for electrical and automation systems.
Mentor and support junior automation engineers through project execution and knowledge sharing.
Continuously review and improve documentation, procedures, and system architecture to ensure consistency and operational efficiency.
Identify and deliver value-adding improvements to automation systems and processes across all plants.
Maintain full compliance with relevant international standards, including ISO, and CE requirements.
Promote and uphold a strong safety culture, ensuring all automation work adheres to company and regulatory safety procedures.
Requirements: Degree in Electrical, Automation, or Control Engineering, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing or process environment.
Strong technical expertise in PLC programming and diagnostics - experience with Siemens S7 ********) and TIA Portal preferred.
Practical understanding of motion control systems (e.g., Siemens Simotion, Sinamics, or equivalent).
Experience in SCADA configuration and reporting systems - ideally Siemens Win CC.
Proven ability to install, configure, and fault-find industrial networks such as Profibus, Profinet, and Ethernet-based control systems.
Familiarity with electrical control system design and related safety standards.
A proactive and adaptable approach with a hands-on problem-solving mindset.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural teams.
