The role
Great Island Power station is looking to hire Production Technicians to work on a shift pattern
You will
Production Technicians work as part of a small shift team with the following key responsibilities:
Operation of the 464MW Great Island CCGT power station in accordance with all procedures and the site environmental permit.
Undertake authorised duties to facilitate safe plant maintenance.
Participate pro-actively in the continuous improvement of plant operational practices and associated documentation.
Pro-actively investigate plant and process trends to identify opportunities for improved safety, efficiency, availability or reliability.
Be trained and enact duties as a first aider
You have
Experience in the operation of power generation or similar process installations, or a fundamental understanding of power generation principles and ambition to develop in the role.
Qualifications relevant to power plant operation and/or maintenance.
Ability and discipline to follow rules, procedures and instructions and a basic understanding of process and behavioural safety.
Willingness to work 12hr shifts as per a set roster which will cover operation of the plant on a 24 hour per day, 365 days per year basis
Some level of flexibility to provide shift cover to allow colleagues to take annual leave, training events and short term emergent leave.
