You are responsible for leading a team of 20+ to ensure that 300+ daily orders are dispatched with 100% accuracy. This role requires a leader who balances high-speed operational output with a commitment to long-term staff development.Be a part of a wider dynamic project team that will manage the implementation of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and identify opportunities for automation to future-proof our growth.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Dispatch: Oversee the full outbound cycle to meet a daily target of 300+ B2B orders.Maintain a 99% order accuracy standard through robust picking and packing verification processes.Workflow Management: Plan daily shifts and resource allocation to handle seasonal spikes and urgent wholesale requests.Team Development & FrameworksMulti-Skilled Framework: Implement and manage a cross-training matrix, ensuring every team member is proficient in at least three core warehouse functions (e.g., Goods-In, Bendi, Dispatch).Training Mandate: Execute a personal development plan for each staff member, ensuring a minimum of 20 hours of formal training per year.Coaching: Conduct regular 1-to-1s to identify \"star employees\" and provide a clear pathway for internal promotion.Develop Performance Metrics (KPIs)OTIF (On-Time In-Full): Achieve a consistent 98% success rate.Absenteeism: Proactively manage the team to keep total absenteeism below 3%.Inventory Accuracy: Maintain 99.5%+ stock record accuracy through a rigorous cycle-counting regime.Own the Employee Retention Rate as a core management KPI (Target: >90%).Culture & MindsetYou are expected to build a culture where employees feel like \"owners\" of the process rather than just staff.Psychological Safety: Create a \"non-punitive\" environment where staff feel safe to report mistakes immediately so they can be learned from, not hidden.Recruiting and Retention of Team Members: Creating a culture of belonging and recognition.Health & Safety: Ensure the facility is fully compliant with H&S regulations, managing equipment maintenance and safety protocols.Liaise and build relationships with other functional leads in the business.Skilfully mediate disputes between team members, aiming for \"win-win\" outcomes.Use emotional intelligence to handle high-pressure situations without triggering defensive reactions from the team.Address performance issues or \"unsafe behaviours\" immediately and objectively.CommunicationEstablish clear, two-way communication channels with all stakeholders.Deliver concise daily updates on warehouse efficiencies.Listen actively to team feedback to identify and remove workflow bottlenecks.Ideal CandidateExperience & QualificationsMinimum 3–5 years of Warehouse Management experience, preferably in a wholesale or high-volume B2B distribution environment.Proven track record in WMS implementation: You must have played a key role in transitioning from manual/legacy systems to a modern WMS.Systems Proficiency: Advanced IT skills (MS Excel, ERP systems, and WMS platforms).Logistics Knowledge: Experience managing both internal transport fleets and external 3PL providers.Personal AttributesChange Agent: Comfortable leading through periods of technological change and organisational growth.Problem Solver: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and fix operational bottlenecks.Hands-on Leader: Happy to be \"on the floor\" supporting the team while maintaining a strategic view.Experience with HSA (Health and Safety Authority) standards and Irish workplace regulations.Strong empathy and the ability to mentor a diverse, multi-generational workforce.Proven experience in a B2B or wholesale distribution environment (Irish market preferred).Strong proficiency in WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and ERP integration.
