Maintenance Technician – Multi-Skilled (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation)

We are currently seeking an experienced and multi-skilled
Maintenance Technician
to join our team supporting critical operations in a highly regulated process manufacturing environment.
This is a key role responsible for maintaining utilities and process systems to ensure consistent performance, safety, and compliance across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Maintenance
Maintain and repair a wide range of
process and utility systems
, including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
Perform
preventative maintenance (PMs)
and
scheduled calibrations
to minimize downtime and ensure process reliability.
Conduct fault-finding and implement corrective actions on defective equipment, instruments, and cabling.
Support
process changeovers and cleaning
as required, working to minimize production disruption.
Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with
cGMP standards
and site protocols.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all
site safety protocols
, including Lockout Tagout and Permit to Work systems.
Carry out
risk assessments
and engage with safety teams to ensure a safe working environment.
Ensure external contractors comply with all
safety and housekeeping procedures
while on site.
Communication & Documentation
Complete and submit all
maintenance records
, calibration reports, and follow-up work orders via CMMS or digital platforms.
Communicate proactively with shift leads, area owners, and other departments regarding ongoing work or potential impact to operations.
Raise issues immediately and participate in cross-functional discussions to resolve them effectively.
Teamwork & Development
Collaborate with other maintenance technicians, manufacturing teams, and contractors to achieve shared objectives.
Maintain a respectful, solution-focused approach and contribute to an open forum for ideas and problem-solving.
Stay up to date with changes in legislation, best practices, and site protocols through internal and external training.
Housekeeping & Continuous Improvement
Maintain clean, safe workspaces and ensure all tools and areas are production-ready after use.
Support and sustain
5S initiatives
across the site, including maintenance workshops and shared facilities.
What We're Looking For
Essential
Multi-skilled technician trained in
at least two
of the following:
mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation
(ideally all three)
Recognized
trade qualification
or
relevant degree
Minimum
5+ years post-qualification experience
in a technical maintenance role
Strong working knowledge of
preventive maintenance
and
calibration
Experience with
CMMS systems
for documentation and workflow
Desirable
Previous experience in a
cGMP-regulated environment
(pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar)
Awareness of
ATEX
and hazardous area equipment standards
Familiarity with pharmaceutical API or high-spec manufacturing environments
