We're seeking a
self-motivated, multi-skilled Fabrication Technician
to join our
Facilities Maintenance team
. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with a broad skill set in
Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Carpentry
, capable of working independently to deliver high-quality fabrication and maintenance solutions across our facilities. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, takes pride in craftsmanship, and can see a project from start to finish with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
* Independently assess on-site needs, develop fabrication solutions, and deliver projects without ongoing supervision.
* Self-Deliver basic installations or repairs related to electrical systems (e.g. changing switches and sockets, bulb changes, floor box repairs, conduit and trunking repairs), plumbing (e.g. pipework repair, drain and sanitaryware unblocking), HVAC (filter changes, pipework, AHU cleaning, ductwork), and building fabric (frameworks, painting, locks and ironmongery).
* Carry out groundskeeping duties such as litter picking, gritting, and clearing walkways and minor landscaping works (e.g. weeding).
* Move furniture, equipment, or materials around sites as required.
* Perform fabrication and installation of components related to electrical systems (e.g. conduit runs, enclosures), plumbing (e.g. pipe assemblies, pump supports), HVAC (e.g. custom ductwork, brackets), and carpentry (e.g. framing, shelving, partitions).
* Fabricate or modify parts and structures to support operational needs, including mounting brackets, platforms, guards, and custom fixtures.
* Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently across multiple trades.
* Prepare work areas, handle materials, and clean up post-job.
* Assist with Electrical works; pulling cables, mounting fixtures, and installing conduit or trunking.
* Support with Plumbing works; cutting, threading, and installing pipes, as well as fitting fixtures.
* Aid with HVAC works; ductwork installation, insulation, and servicing of systems.
* Assist with Carpentry works; measure, cut, and install timber structures, doors, skirting, and flooring.
* Maintain clear documentation of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
* Ensure all work is completed to code and safety standards, adhering to applicable regulations (e.g., NEC, IPC, IMC).
* Prioritize tasks based on urgency, coordinate with stakeholders, and communicate updates effectively.
* Help maintain tools and ensure equipment is in good working order.
* Adhere strictly to health & safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working in a multi-trade or skilled labouring role.
* Familiarity with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry processes and tools.
* Confident using basic hand and power tools relevant to each trade.
* Good understanding of health & safety practices and site protocols.
* Physically fit and capable of manual handing, work at heights or in confined spaces, and stand/walk for extended periods in varied environments,
* Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-player mentality.
* Able to follow technical instructions and communicate effectively on-site.
Desirable:
* Valid CSCS card or relevant trade-specific certifications.
* Additional Training/ certifications
* Knowledge of basic building codes and safety regulations across trades.
* First Aid, Manual Handling, and Working at Height training.
* Full Irish driving licence (if site-to-site travel is required).
* Experience in residential, commercial, or facilities maintenance environments.
