Location:Dublin and surrounding areasContract Type:ContractIndustry:Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing and Heavy EngineeringEHS International is seeking an experienced Consultant, Machinery Safety Expert to support clients in managing high risk industrial machinery and ensuring full compliance with Irish and EU safety legislation.This is a key opportunity for a specialist machinery safety professional to play a vital role in reducing serious risk, supporting regulatory compliance, and improving safety performance across complex and highly regulated environments.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct and document detailed task, equipment, and machinery risk assessments to identify hazards and define appropriate control measuresProvide professional advisory support to ensure compliance with Irish health and safety legislation and applicable EU standards, including the Machinery DirectiveLead and support Safety Integrity Level (SIL) and Performance Level (PL) assessments for safety related control systemsPlan and carry out machinery safety audits, site inspections, and equipment compliance reviewsSupport clients in identifying non conformances and developing practical improvement actionsDeliver toolbox talks and specialist machinery safety training to maintenance teams, engineers, and contractorsSupport Management of Change by assessing the safety impact of machinery modifications, upgrades, and new installationsLiaise with client engineering teams, contractors, and project stakeholders to embed machinery safety from design through to operationRequirementsProven experience in machinery safety within pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, or other high risk industrial sectorsMinimum 5 years experience in EHS roles, with at least 3 years focused on industrial machinery or functional safetyStrong working knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and EU machinery standardsDemonstrated experience carrying out SIL or PL assessments and machinery compliance auditsExcellent communication and reporting skills, with a practical and solutions focused approachQualifications and CertificationsLevel 8 Degree in Health and Safety, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical disciplineCertified Machinery Safety ExpertCertified Expert in Functional Safety (CEFS)IOSH membership, with Chartered status desirableOther RequirementsFull, clean driving licenceWillingness to travel to client sites across Dublin and surrounding regionsHow to ApplyTo apply, please contactChris Meedirectly at or call
