About the Role:The Senior Accountant position has varied responsibilities, but primarily supports the international accounting close processes, preparation of statutory reports for the European subsidiaries and related audits, acting as business partner and financial analyst to support the preparation of annual budget, the analysis of discrepancies in revenue/expenses to, ultimately, provide insights to leaders, as well as support tax compliance across various European jurisdictions. Reporting to the head of finance of International, this will be a key partner to the accounting team interacting with various internal and external stakeholders.Responsibilities:Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations for all international accounts on a monthly basis, and other corporate accounts as necessary as well as investigate and resolve variances detected.Hand in glove with corporate accounting team, prepare journal entries throughout the month as activity occurs.Support the corporate accounting team in the close accounting process by pulling reports from the accounting system, updating and maintaining supporting documentation, as well as handling other tasks, as needed.Perform monthly financial analytics on both the income statement and balance sheet.Acting as an accounting subject matter expert (SME), translating US GAAP/IFRS/local GAAP rules, tax codes, or internal controls into actionable guidance for projects, systems or daily operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting.Assist the head of finance with financial performance analyses, identifying trends, variances, risks, and opportunities.Assist in detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.Assists the head of finance with preparation of ad-hoc business cases by providing crucial financial analysis, forecasting, cost-benefit modelling, and risk assessment, transforming raw data into strategic insights for decisions on new projects and business initiatives.Collaborate with department heads to gather data, understand performance, and align financial goals.Assist with compiling data for various international tax requirements, including statistical surveys to be submitted to various tax bodies across Europe.Support internal and external audit requests in relation to preparation of local statutory accounts and consolidated company audit.Assist with preparation of periodical VAT returns across various jurisdictions.Assist with the preparation of annual CIT returns for the Irish and UK subsidiaries.Hand in glove with corporate accounting team, support external SOX requests in relation to the periodical internal audits.Proactively identify business, accounting, and finance risks and provide recommendations to mitigate risks.Work collaboratively with the head of finance and corporate accounting team, to drive process improvements across the accounting/finance function.Prepare and maintain ad hoc analyses, as requested.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in accounting / ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or equivalent.4+ years of post-qualification experience.Previous tax and statutory accounts preparation experience strongly preferred.Prior healthcare/pharmaceutical experience preferredStrong track record of achievement in complex, fast-paced business environments.Ability to work well under pressure and to work within short deadlines.Demonstrated ability to work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with others.Work independently while effectively communicating and coordinating work efforts with others.Hybrid Job opportunity.
