Offer description

Candidates must have:

i) Honours/Ordinary Bachelor's Degree in Applied Social Care Studies awarded by a recognised body(Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications)

OR

ii) Honours/Ordinary Bachelor's Degree in Childcare awarded by a recognised body (Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications)

OR

iii) Honours/Ordinary Bachelor's Degree in Social Care awarded by a recognised body (Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications)

OR

iv) Honours/Ordinary Bachelor's Degree in Social Care Practice awarded by a recognised body (Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications)

OR

v) Honours/Ordinary Bachelor's Degree in Applied Social Studies (Disabilities) awarded by a recognised body (Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications)

OR

vi) an equivalent social care/psychology/teaching/nursing qualification

AND

* the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the post
* 3 years' experience of working with children and young people in a residential setting or community based children and family services
* a suitable standard of professional attainments including Children First (full training) & Occupational First Aid (where possible)

Job Description:

∙ Identify presenting strengths and needs of service users using various assessment frameworks. This includes but is the ecological framework, tools and models such as strengths & difficulties, adverse childhood experiences questionnaires and risk management frameworks.

∙ Contribute to informed planning and design as required pertaining to the therapeutic needs of the child in order to inform direct therapeutic work.

∙ Provide specific targeted and ongoing therapeutic interventions to address presenting risk and needs of service users.

∙ Establish a therapeutic relationship with service users and complete direct therapeutic work.

∙ Work from a children's rights model, providing advocacy and empowerment. ∙ Competency and ability to use a solution focussed approach.

∙ Conduct risk assessments as required and support risk management plans to internal and external agency partners.

∙ Collaborate with internal and external service provision partners to address the presenting needs of service users.

∙ Advocate and implement the views of young people where possible and appropriate.

∙ The ability to use own initiative to complete tasks and complete rostering in accordance with the Working Time Act.

∙ To work as part of a team and provide positive leadership.

∙ To 'lone-work' with service users in a kind and empathetic way.

∙ Liaison with social work departments, CAMHS, schools/education institutions, general practitioners, primary health care staff, statutory/voluntary groups and other appropriate personnel where applicable.

∙ Participate as a member of the Catalyst Care team in service provision, meetings, case conferences and team building.

∙ Contribute to the development and implementation of information sharing, protocols, audit systems, referral pathways, and individual therapy plans.

∙ Develop and maintain close liaison with team members, and specialist services to ensure an integrated service for service users.

∙ Support models of best evidence based practice.

∙ Support the manager in ongoing monitoring, audit and evaluation of service.

∙ Participate in the development of new initiatives.

∙ Capacity and ability to work autonomously with due regard to governance of the service.

∙ Participate in professional meetings, such as child in care review, strategy meetings, professional meetings, service reviews and other meetings as requested by the manager.

∙ Contribute to / Provide therapeutic reports for other professional agencies as required (court, child care review, strategy meetings).

∙ Plan and participate in education/life-skills modules in line with the ethos and delivery of the service.

∙ Undertake therapeutic family work as required and when necessary.

∙ Develop contacts with relevant key people and groups in local communities pertaining to the needs of the young people and as appropriate.

∙ Take responsibility for communicating on behalf of the CC team in various arenas e.g. Child in Care Reviews, professionals meetings, legal proceedings etc.

∙ Take responsibility for planning and delivering individual, family, group and systemic interventions as per the ecological model of care and/or other approaches as per service ethos.

* To maintain budgets and petty cash systems as per service policies and procedures.
* Have knowledge specific to working with young people in aftercare – e.g. aftercare packages, social welfare and housing provisions.
* Maintain an effective professional working relationship with the Manager, be accountable to the Manager at all times and deputise for the Manager as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From €45,000.00 per month

Expected hours: 20 – 48 per week

* Master's (preferred)
