Role Summary
The AI Enablement Architect is a hands-on, contract position focused on designing, building, prototyping, and deploying production-ready AI solutions.
This is not a people-manager role and does not include direct reports.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives, challenges, and opportunities, and apply modern AI technologies to improve efficiency, decision-making, and overall fan and employee experiences.
This role reports into senior leadership within the AI Enablement function and operates in a flexible hybrid model, with a team presence in Galway, Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
Act as an AI evangelist, promoting AI as a force multiplier for growth, efficiency, and improved fan experiences
Design, prototype, and deploy production-ready AI solutions using modern AI and machine learning technologies
Stay current on emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities for transformation and efficiency gains
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, challenges, and opportunities
Apply AI solutions thoughtfully to business processes, systems, and workflows
Innovate and drive transformation through novel applications of AI and change management
Clearly and succinctly articulate complex technical concepts to senior stakeholders
Work independently while contributing effectively in a collaborative, fast-moving environment
Required Qualifications (Candidates will not be considered without these)
8+ years of experience as a software engineer, with openness to candidates who have progressed into an architect role
Proven, hands-on experience with production AWS environments, including:
Architecture and design
Core AWS services
Infrastructure as code
Demonstrated experience building and shipping AI systems, including:
Agentic architectures
AI APIs and/or Model Context Protocol (MCP)
AI platforms or AI-assisted development workflows
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Kiro, or Claude Code
Hands-on experience with:
Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
Embeddings
Comfort working in a fast-changing, startup-style environment with minimal training
Experience leading or mentoring others (formal or informal), while remaining an individual contributor
Additional Technical Experience (Highly Relevant)
Extensive experience architecting, developing, rapidly prototyping, and deploying robust production solutions
Strong understanding of:
Prompt and context engineering
AI agents, tool calling, agentic architectures, and MCP
Model tuning, evaluation, benchmarking, and guardrails
Familiarity with:
Observability and telemetry
Microservices and enterprise architecture on AWS
Awareness of the legal, ethical, and security considerations related to AI systems
Ability to thrive when working both independently and collaboratively
