Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for an Automation Engineer to join a leading medical device manufacturing and R&D site focused on developing advanced medical devices, including vessel closure, endovascular, and coronary technologies. This is a project-focused Automation Engineer role rather than a hands-on programming position. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading end-to-end automation projects from initial concept through to development and implementation within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and implement automation systems to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
* Collaborate on project scoping, planning, and execution.
* Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
* Lead installation, testing, and commissioning of automation equipment.
* Troubleshoot automation systems and software.
* Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
* Deliver end-user training and create technical documentation.
* Stay informed on emerging automation technologies.
Requirements:
* NFQ Level 7 qualification (180 credits) in a relevant discipline.
* 5–7 years’ experience in automation engineering within medical devices.
* Expertise in PLC programming, HMI, SCADA, and CAD tools.
* Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
* Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
