As a member of our team, you will play an important role in enabling Aramark Building Consultancy to maintain its high levels of performance and to ensure its continued growth into the future.
Working alongside a collaborative team of Building Surveyors, Building Service Engineers, Project Managers and Designers, you will be responsible for fulfilling core Building Surveying duties for our commercial Clients throughout Ireland and the UK.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor (3-5 years) to become part of a busy consultancy team providing professional Building Surveying and Project Management services, reporting to an Associate Director within the building consultancy team.
The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills, strong IT skills and an ability to assess, prioritise and manage a wide range of instructions. This role will predominately involve producing detailed reports and managing live construction projects, ensuring that the highest standards and best building practices are maintained for each project. The successful candidate must also have relevant experience in problem-solving and a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for their workload and commitment to collaborative working.
Main Duties
* Deliver a range of reports to a high standard, such as building condition surveys, planned preventative maintenance and sinking fund reports, defect analysis reports etc.
* Preparing and negotiating dilapidations claims and responses on behalf of landlords and tenants.
* Preparing and submitting statutory applications relating to planning, fire safety, disabled access and BCAR compliance.
* Preparing, co-ordinating and approving landlord approvals and tenant fit outs.
* Project management, including design and cost consultancy.
* Ability to design and specify refurbishment and fit-out projects to conform with relevant Building Regulations and Building Control Regulations.
* Ability to use initiative and a proactive approach to ensure Client deadlines and objectives are met, taking pride and ownership in the quality of work delivered.
* Ability to review technical information i.e., technical datasheets, drawings, specifications etc., in order to determine remedial solutions to live problems.
* Handling inbound/outbound calls, emails and general technical enquiries from Client’s and other professional advisors.
* Ensure accurate records are maintained on the company systems in accordance with defined procedures.
The core attributes being sought for this role are:
* Proficient in Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
* Proficient in AutoCAD/ REVIT platforms.
* Working knowledge of Smartsheets is an advantage.
* High level of knowledge of construction methods, materials and technology.
* High level of knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Control Regulations and Safety & Health Regulations.
* Effective decision making and problem-solving skills. Make sound and timely decisions using technical knowledge and personal experience.
* A highly organised and efficient team player, capable of planning and executing their own workload and operating effectively without close supervision.
* Confident and articulate in order to demonstrate the ability to work in a collaborative environment, be a Client-facing professional, and have the ability and skills to develop long-term Client relationships.
* Excellent time and resource management. Ability to manage multiple tasks and willingness to ask for help when needed, as well as supporting other members of the team.

Key Requirements
* A full clean driving licence.
* A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role.
* A relevant Degree in Building Surveying or Construction related discipline.

Our building consultancy is dedicated to providing consultancy services for both in-house and external clients, across the commercial, financial, residential, industrial and retail sectors, both public and private. Building consultancy also work closely with various divisions of the wider Aramark network, to provide consultancy services to their food, facilities management, property services, and retail solutions clients, as part of a holistic Aramark approach.
