Clinical Nurse Manager II - Theatre Location: Bon Secours Hospital Dublin, Glasnevin, Dublin | SPC Maternity Leave Cover | Full - Time Bon Secours Hospital Dublin is currently seeking applications for the position of Clinical Nurse Manager II - Theatre to join our dynamic Theatre team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated nurse leader to play a key role in the co-ordination and management of nursing services within the Operating Theatre, supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care in a leading private healthcare environment. The Role The Clinical Nurse Manager II is responsible for the effective co-ordination and management of nursing services within the Theatre Department. Working closely with the CNM III Theatre Manager and multidisciplinary teams, the successful candidate will support excellence in patient care through leadership, clinical expertise, staff development, and the effective management of resources. The role requires a strong commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, teamwork, and the promotion of the Bon Secours Mission, Values, and Ethos. Key Responsibilities Support the effective day-to-day management of the Theatre Department Supervise and co-ordinate the delivery of patient care within the Operating Theatre Ensure all nursing care is planned, implemented, evaluated, and documented appropriately Promote a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors Ensure Theatre policies, procedures, and best practice guidelines are implemented and adhered to Ensure all necessary equipment is available, functional, and safely maintained Support staff orientation, training, development, and performance management Assist in identifying staff training needs and support ongoing professional development Liaise with Bed Utilisation/Scheduling teams regarding Theatre scheduling and patient flow Promote effective communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams Monitor stock control and liaise with Stores regarding Theatre supplies and equipment Ensure safe handling and management of drugs, specimens, blood products, and hazardous materials Investigate incidents, complaints, and accidents as required and support quality improvement initiatives Support recruitment and retention initiatives within the Theatre Department Deputise for the CNM III - Theatre Manager as required Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, infection prevention standards, and hospital policies Adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics for Registered Nurses Essential Criteria Registered General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), or eligible for registration Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting within the last 9 years Management experience within the last 3 years Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated leadership and people management abilities Strong commitment to quality patient care and continuous professional development Flexibility and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Demonstrated IT skills Desirable Criteria Post-registration qualification in Peri-operative Nursing Management qualification/course Knowledge of JCI or similar accreditation systems Experience with Theatre Management Systems Competencies Leadership & People Management Technical & Clinical Competencies Quality Service & Patient Focus Communication & Team Working Continuous Learning & Development Planning & Organisational Skills Bon Secours Health System is an equal opportunities employer.
