Head of Strategic Infrastructure & Technology

BnM seeks a Head of Strategic Infrastructure & Technology to lead the planning and execution of integrated technology and infrastructure initiatives, ensuring the organisation’s success in the renewable energy landscape through 2050.
Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial, this role encompasses leading initiatives in offshore wind, thermal, flextech, and e-fuels, as well as overseeing comprehensive grid and infrastructure planning in collaboration with EirGrid and other stakeholders. The role includes formulating a future market plan to safeguard and enhance the company’s market position through 2050.
The main duties include:
Strategic Technology
Managing a diverse portfolio of technologies aligned with long-term vision.
Developing technology deployment and infrastructure investment roadmaps.
Commercial Development
Collaborating on project proposals and business cases for investment decisions.
Leading teams to provide data and insights for strategic investments.
Infrastructure Planning
Developing grid and infrastructure plans aligned with energy policies.
Engaging with stakeholders to agree on infrastructure requirements and strategies.
Future Market Strategy
Formulating and implementing plans to position the organisation advantageously.
Analyzing market trends and regulatory changes for strategic opportunities.
Horizon Scanning
Monitoring emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Engagement
Building relationships with government, regulators, and industry partners.
Representing the organisation in public forums and managing joint ventures.
Participating in performance management processes.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have:
Honours Degree in Engineering, Commercial, or Renewable Energy fields.
Postgraduate qualification (advantageous).
Professional subscription or affiliation (desirable).
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
Proven project management and stakeholder collaboration experience.
Management-level experience.
Leadership skills with a results-oriented mindset.
Strong communication, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of energy markets, policy, and regulatory environments.
Adaptability and innovation capacity.
