MES Engineer
Location: Sligo, Ireland

Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for an MES Engineer to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Sligo. This role will support commercial manufacturing operations and new product introduction (NPI) activities through the development, maintenance, and optimisation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, recipe management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, maintain, and optimise MES recipes and workflows
Implement and manage MES system and recipe changes in line with business requirements
Support SAP-MES integration activities and system strategy execution
Provide technical support for commercial manufacturing and NPI activities
Investigate and resolve MES, recipe, and system-related issues
Support qualification activities for MES recipes, system upgrades, and new implementations
Maintain SOPs, training materials, and supporting documentation
Act as a key user for SAP and MES-related queries and transactions
Support regulatory inspections, customer audits, and compliance activities
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional project teams
Prepare and communicate project and system status updates to stakeholders
Promote Right First Time principles and operational excellence
Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
Minimum 3 years' experience working within a regulated manufacturing environment (FDA, HPRA, or equivalent)
Hands‑on experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
Strong knowledge of cGMP requirements and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes
Experience supporting manufacturing operations, system integration, and recipe management
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
Experience with POMSnet, Emerson Syncade, Werum PAS-X, or similar MES platforms
Candidates with Syncade experience will be considered, as well as candidates who have transitioned from Werum PAS-X to Syncade environments
Experience supporting MES projects, system upgrades, and new product introductions
