Job Description:
Waterford Intellectual Disability Association (WIDA) are currently recruiting for aRelief Recreational Co-ordinator/Pool Lifeguard to Work at our pool in Killure Waterford City. Applicants with a valid pool lifeguard certification and adequate experience are invited to apply.
Who We Are:
WIDA is a community based voluntary provider of services for adults and children with an intellectual disability and/or autism in Waterford City and County.
WIDA is registered charity, with a voluntary Board of Directors, and is funded by the Health Service Executive.
Hours of Work:
Hours of work are on a relief basis rostered four weekly in advance
Salary Scale: €30,755 to €43,909 Depending on Experience, Pro rata from Whole Time Equivalent of 39 Hours Per Week
Education/Training/Experience
* Valid certificate of qualification Pool Lifeguard
* Proven experience of working as a pool or sea lifeguard.

Duties
Operate the pool to the highest safety and quality standards
Plan, promote, coordinate, and supervise aquatics programming, and daily operation of indoor pool.
Co-ordinate enquiries and bookings for multi-purpose room.
Identify the needs and feasibility of current and future aquatics programs and Service User recreation programme.Design, implementation and management of new programmes.
Manages multiple programs, and day to day pool operations, concurrently.
Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external organizations to maintain quality services for patrons and participants.
Assure that program fees are collected for assigned programs.
Be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of staff and facility users
To interact with the public responsibly and welcome all users of the facilities, promoting a positive image of WIDA by the provision of high quality customer service.
Control access to the pool area, open and close premises as required and take payment for use of pool from service users and their families/guardians and to record all transactions
Attend regular staff training as required by WIDA to maintain the ability to carry out the duties of the role effectively.
Attend regular Lifeguard training sessions to ensure ongoing personal development and compliance of the requirements of the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
Ensure the facilities are clean, safe and tidy at all times and carry out light cleaning
duties as required.
Perform pool water testing and other pool duties; back washing, acid barrels, chlorine levels, PH levels, vacuuming, flux on water etc. and complete the relevant documentation
Perform inspection of pool safety equipment including rescue aids and alarms in accordance with the operating procedures.
Enforce WIDA rules and regulations and codes of conduct and ensure the pool safe operating procedures and all other policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Perform first aid and emergency care as and when required and complete relevant WIDA documentation (incident/accident report)
To check the safety of equipment in areas of responsibility and report any damage or malfunction of equipment, plant or building fabric or any other matter of concern to the Line Manager immediately after discovery.
To ensure that lost property is handled and recorded in line with procedures.
To ensure that all Pool equipment is stored safely and securely when not in use.
Perform any other tasks or duties as required by WIDA
