We're seeking a
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
to lead our technology vision, strategy, and execution as we scale globally.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Chief Technology Officer based in Cork. The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will oversee all technical aspects of the company, including leading the development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies to optimize renewable energy operations.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Vision
* Define and execute RenewableBOT's long-term technology roadmap aligned with business goals.
* Drive innovation in AI, IoT, cloud platforms, and hardware integration.
* Oversee R&D and product development for both SaaS and hardware-enabled solutions.
Product Development Leadership
* Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, secure, and user-friendly platforms.
* Guide the integration of IoT devices, inverters, PLCs, and data loggers into a unified platform.
* Ensure compliance with
EU data residency regulations
and cybersecurity best practices.
AI & Data Science Oversight
* Oversee the development of AI/ML models for forecasting, optimization, and predictive maintenance.
* Champion adoption of real-time decision-making models (5-second intervals, predictive SOC control).
* Ensure robust data pipelines, data governance, and API-driven architectures.
Hardware & Edge Computing
* Drive development of
ReBOT PowerPulse
and other edge devices, ensuring compatibility with industry protocols (MODBUS, RTU, TCP/IP, MQTT, OPC-UA).
* Collaborate with hardware vendors and oversee firmware/software integration.
Team Leadership & Culture
* Build and mentor a world-class engineering and data science team across Ireland, UK, and international hubs.
* Promote a culture of innovation, rapid problem-solving, and customer-focused delivery.
* Manage distributed teams and ensure high performance in both onshore and offshore teams.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
* Work closely with the CEO, COO, and CCO to align tech with customer needs and investor expectations.
* Represent RenewableBOT in industry events, conferences, and with regulators.
* Build partnerships with universities, research centers, and energy/insurance stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Leadership
* Proven track record as CTO, VP Engineering, or senior tech leader in SaaS, IoT, or energy tech.
* Strong understanding of
AI/ML frameworks
(TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
* Experience with
real-time data processing
(Kafka, Spark, Flink).
* Deep knowledge of
cloud-native platforms
(AWS, Azure, or GCP), container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
* Expertise in
IoT communication protocols
(Modbus, OPC-UA, MQTT, TCP/IP, RTU).
* Experience building
secure APIs and microservices architectures

* Knowledge of
cybersecurity frameworks
(ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR compliance).
* Hardware/software integration experience with
embedded systems
(Raspberry Pi, ARM-based devices).
Leadership and Strategy
* 10+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles.
* Ability to translate complex technical requirements into business outcomes.
* Strong financial acumen for budgeting, resource allocation, and vendor management.
* Excellent track record of building and scaling engineering teams.
* Experience with
international expansion and scaling products to 1,000+ enterprise clients
.
Preferred
* Experience in
renewable energy, InsurTech, or related industries
.
* Prior involvement in
fundraising or investor relations
as a technology leader.
* Knowledge of
digital twin technology, edge AI, and blockchain for energy trading
.
* Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
