A fast-growing, US-owned medical device manufacturer is significantly expanding its Longford site and has a new opening for a skilled Automation Technician to join the engineering team on a 4-cycle shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, troubleshoot and optimise automated equipment, robotics and control systems
Fault-find on PLC-controlled lines (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic)
Perform preventative & corrective maintenance to minimise downtime
Support commissioning and integration of new automation projects
Assist with new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives
Work with OEMs and suppliers during installation, validation and upgrades
Complete all documentation in line with ISO ***** and company procedures
Ensure full compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards
Requirements
Level 6 (or higher) qualification in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or similar
Minimum 2+ years hands-on automation experience in a regulated manufacturing environment - medical device / injection moulding is necessary
Strong working knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens or similar), robotics, sensors and vision systems
Ability to read electrical & mechanical schematics
Solid understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
Experience with preventative maintenance and structured fault-finding
Familiarity with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office
Excellent problem-solving skills and a safety-first mindset
