We are currently recruiting for a Packaging Engineer to join our West Galway team on a 6-month contract and play a key role in optimizing our manual and automated packaging and visual inspection lines across high‑end pharmaceutical/medical device platforms.
Responsibilities
* Boost OEE and operator availability across packaging and visual inspection operations.
* Lead process improvements for manual, semi‑automatic, and automated inspection equipment.
* Partner with leading suppliers (Optel, Marchesini, Brevetti, Mettler Toledo, Mikron, Harro Hofliger, etc.).
* Deliver equipment reliability through preventative maintenance, root cause analysis, and technical problem‑solving.
* Lead or support capital equipment projects and continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, SMED, FMEA).
* Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams.
* Ensure compliance with GMP and quality systems, managing CAPAs, IRs, and documentation.
Requirements
* Degree in mechanical, mechatronics, packaging, or related engineering field.
* Strong experience with packaging technologies and automation systems.
* Proven knowledge of GMP, quality systems, and continuous improvement tools.
* Excellent communication and project management skills.
* Proficiency in Power BI, SAP, and MS Office.
