Position
Key Account Manager
As a part of the Sales team, you will contribute to developing and growing Univar's business within an agreed customer base/territory to meet the strategic objectives of the Sales department and the annual budget. You will build and maintain customer relations with strategic accounts, spending as much time as reasonably possible interacting face-to-face with customers to seek new business opportunities and strengthen current relationships. Customer needs will drive your activities, balanced with the interests of the company. You will report to the Sales Manager.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
1. Ensure efficient execution of sales targets.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with Strategic Accounts and other Customers in the agreed territory, including international partners or major accounts on the EMEA level.
3. Conduct regular meetings with senior management of Strategic Accounts to understand their needs and align them with the organization's product/service strategies.
4. Support and improve the annual business plan, including planning visits, services, calls, and closing sales opportunities by creating and converting a credible pipeline through opportunity identification.
5. Initiate, set up, and complete sales projects, attend conferences, and participate in marketing events.
6. Meet targets on cold calls to expand business, maintain existing relationships, negotiate sales terms, provide after-sales support, logistics, technical services, investigate and resolve customer complaints, train clients, and advise on problem-solving.
7. Use reporting tools to update customer situations and orders, respond to sample requests, prepare client quotations, and analyze costs and sales.
8. Communicate and liaise with other sales team members, product management, technical, and other departments locally and globally.
9. Follow all company processes, policies, and guidelines.
10. Perform additional duties as necessary to meet business needs.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
* Extensive experience in B2B sales, preferably in chemical or technical sales.
* Proactive, sales-driven, goal-oriented, with the ability to understand customer needs and expectations, and work systematically.
* Hard-working, adaptable, and able to prioritize under changing circumstances.
* Higher education in a chemical-related field is preferred.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of operating at different organizational levels, with an understanding of working in an international environment.
