EHR Revenue Cycle Team Lead Location: Dublin / Kildare / Kilkenny / Waterford Job type: Specified Purpose Overview of role: The Revenue Cycle Team Lead will play a pivotal role in supporting the Cram Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation across UPMC Ireland.
You will report to the EHR Business Stream Lead.
This position ensures that all components of the revenue cycle-from registration to collections- are accurately designed, tested, and transitioned into the new EHR environment to support accurate billing, regulatory compliance, and financial sustainability.
This role provides strategic and tactical leadership for the Revenue Cycle workstream, ensuring alignment with clinical operations, financial systems, and overall programme goals.
The individual will act as a subject matter expert (SME) in revenue cycle and ERP-EHR integration to ensure a smooth, efficient, and sustainable transformation of revenue cycle functions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: General Accountabilities You will have responsibility for delivering the new Revenue Cycle workstream within UPMC Ireland.
You will implement the programme within the project scope and governance, including identification of your workstream's stakeholders.
You will establish your project team and allocate responsibilities.
You will collaborate with the other business, clinical and technical workstream leads where required.
For the workflows to be deployed, you will be responsible for the end-user experience, the revenue cycle module, milestone tracking and reporting workstream status and issues, risks and benefits.
You will lead the decision-making process towards the resolution of issues impacting your workstream alongside the Business Stream Lead.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison to Revenue Cycle staff, ensuring system design meets finance documentation and workflow needs.
Leads Revenue Cycle engagement sessions, adoption planning, and go-live readiness efforts.
Recommend policy changes and process improvements related to Revenue Cycle use of the system to drive efficiencies and improve outcomes.
Coordinate a cross-functional Revenue Cycle implementation team across Revenue Cycle, finance and accounting teams during the transition.
Facilitate regular workgroup meetings, track milestones, document decisions, and escalate risks.
Act as a liaison between Revenue Cycle staff and the EHR implementation team.
Support development of training materials and assist with education for Revenue Cycle and other relevant end-users.
Provide hands-on support during go-live and stabilisation phases, ensuring continuity of Revenue Cycle operations and rapid issue resolution.
Collaborate with the training team to ensure Revenue Cycle staff and other relevant users are adequately trained on Revenue Cycle workflows within Meditech and associated applications.
Support the planning and delivery of handover training to the future EHR BAU team members.
Collaborate with Revenue Cycle governance to support ongoing optimization and training needs.
Workflow & System Design: Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for revenue cycle operations including patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, charge capture, coding, billing, claims, denials, and collections.
Collaborate with MEDITECH analysts and operational leaders to design and validate revenue cycle workflows within MEDITECH Expanse.
Ensure operational workflows translate effectively into charge master, billing rules, claims processing, payment posting, and reconciliation.
Ensure system configuration aligns with payer requirements, billing guidelines, and financial policy.
Support the integration of clinical workflows with financial processes to ensure financial integrity and optimised workflows alongside financial policy and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with business, clinical and technical teams to support end-to-end financial integrity across modules.
Implementation Support, Data Validation & Testing: Oversee Revenue Cycle system configuration, data migration validation, and integration with existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms where applicable.
Lead testing activities for revenue cycle modules, including integrated and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Identify and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with IT, finance, and clinical teams.
Validate interfaces between MEDITECH and third-party systems (e.g., ERP, financial systems).
Validate statutory, management and operational reporting requirement delivery for Revenue Cycle functions.
Support go-live readiness and stabilization efforts, including real-time issue resolution and workflow adjustments.
Support the identification of appropriate hardware solutions to finance users in their operational settings.
Documentation & Governance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including current state/future state maps, risk/issue logs, decision registers, benefits registers, and change logs.
Support governance processes by preparing materials for steering group and senior management meetings.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for revenue cycle readiness, adoption, and post-go-live performance.
Assist in documenting lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements related to finance, revenue cycle, clinical safety and digital health.
Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field.
Equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum 5 years of experience in revenue cycle operations in a healthcare setting.
At least 2 years of experience supporting or leading system implementations (preferably MEDITECH or similar ERP/EHR platforms).
In-depth knowledge of healthcare billing, coding, reimbursement models, and compliance standards.
Strong project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across clinical and operational teams.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with MEDITECH Expanse Revenue Cycle modules (including Registration, Abstracting, B/AR, Scheduling, Charge Capture, and Claims Management) or equivalent major EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Oracle Health).
Experience with clinical-to-financial workflow alignment and charge integrity.
Familiarity with health funding models or private/public payer processes.
