Role Summary
The ICT Security & Networks Administrator, reporting to the Head of ICT Cyber Security & Networks, is to participate in delivering and maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and high availability of NTMA data and services in a hybrid network model. The role assists in the configuration and management of networking and data communications infrastructure on‑premise and in a hybrid cloud environment. It involves working with the ICT Security team to manage security technologies, with a focus on network management, responding to security system alerts and monitoring for suspicious activity. The role requires keeping knowledge up to date on technical systems, security and network risks, trends and process innovations relevant to the Agency.
Principal Accountabilities
The role participates in managing and maintaining a secure network infrastructure and communication systems across the Agency, with emphasis on availability, security practices and monitoring tools. Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Administration and support of network security control tools including firewalls and network access management
* Assist in evaluating the security of new products and services (on‑premise and cloud)
* Troubleshoot and analyse network security across various technologies
* Monitor security system logs and reports for anomalies
* Support network security and system auditing and vulnerability assessments
* Participate in remediation and mitigation of detected vulnerabilities
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor degree in Computing, Engineering or equivalent qualification or experience
* Certification/Qualifications in industry recognised Network and Security disciplines
The following would be a distinct advantage:
* Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet Certifications, Checkpoint CCSA, Palo Alto
* Microsoft Network, Security, or Cloud certifications
* Any relevant networking and IT security qualifications
Experience
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a network security administration role for a medium sized organisation
* Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, DMZ, VPN and DNS technologies and protocols
* Experience with network security management solutions and PKI
* Experience with Fortinet and Checkpoint security technologies
* Experience with web and email content filters, IPS
* Understanding of cloud networking and security concepts; experience with cloud security solutions
* Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS)
* Experience with ticketing tools for Incident, Change & Problem Management
Experience in the following areas would be a distinct advantage:
* Experience with CISCO and Palo Alto technologies
* Experience with SIEM and NDR tools
* Experience with Access and Identity Management and Privileged Access Management
* Experience with Microsoft Azure (Azure Virtual Networks, Azure Firewall, Azure Security Centre)
