Cowper Care is seeking applications for the role of Healthcare Assistant for its Nursing Home - St Patrick's Care Centre, Baldoyle, Dublin 13.
Purpose
To provide quality person-centred care to our residents that is both efficient and effective.
Responsibilities
* Maximise the independence of the resident, providing support to achieve the highest possible quality of life and afford every opportunity for dignity in living and dying.
* Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care, promoting equality and dignity at all times.
* Carry out assigned and delegated tasks involving direct care and activities of daily living under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager (e.g., washing, toileting, dressing, dining, etc.).
* Participate in social, recreational and educational activities to provide a stimulating environment.
* Maximise the emotional and physical comfort of residents.
* Participate in care delivery as outlined in the resident's care plan, reporting any changes observed.
* Contribute to maintaining a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.
* Assist with serving resident meals, considering dietary needs.
Requirements
* Experience in a nursing home environment or relevant experience.
* Strong written and spoken English.
* Desirable: QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support.
* Knowledge and experience in dementia care.
