A global healthcare company, committed to transformation in the health and well-being space through the development and production of innovative healthcare services and solutions globally is expanding its presence in Ireland. Within its Medical Devices Division, there has been significant investment in establishing a new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny. The business are continuing to expand capabilities at this facility and so the opportunity has arisen for an Automation Engineer to join their engineering team.
You will need to be a multitasker as your goal will be to ensure that the plant is running smoothly and efficiently, while also meeting quality and safety standards. You will design, implement and maintain processes that help manufacturing increase productivity. This role will often require you to work with multiple departments and external entities in order to accomplish goals.
The Position
* Problem solving with a variety of features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and coordination requirements.
* Oversee and implement engineering changes where required.
* Support engineering studies and suggest recommendations where appropriate.
* Analyse problems and identify their impact across systems and automation infrastructure.
* Set design and process requirements to key stakeholders ensuring engagement across the site.
* Complete documentation in accordance with business standards.
The Person
* Level 7 NFQ qualification in Industry Automation, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Minimum of 3 years of professional experience working within a regulated manufacturing environment - medical technology, medical devices, pharmaceuticals or similar.
* Working knowledge of Rockwell PLC's, SCADA, MES tools.
