Key Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee all workshop operations including planning, scheduling, and coordinating repairs and refurbishments.
* Supervise workshop staff and ensure tasks are carried out safely and efficiently.
* Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained and repaired to company and industry standards.
* Conduct diagnostics, inspections, and quality control checks.
* Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and consumables, and liaise with suppliers as needed.
* Implement and enforce health and safety standards within the workshop.
* Provide technical support and advice to team members and occasionally to customers.
* Monitor timelines, budgets, and quality standards for all workshop projects.
* Report regularly to senior management on workshop performance, issues, and improvements.
* Key Requirements
* Proven experience in a workshop management or supervisory role.
* Background in steel fabrication is essential.
* Solid general knowledge of mechanical machinery, particularly recycling and waste handling equipment is an advantage.
* Strong leadership and organisational skills.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
* Good problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
* Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Full driving licence.
